NORTH KOREA...
(AP) - With North Korea reportedly getting ready for a long-range missile test, President Barack Obama says the U.S. is prepared for any threat the secretive and unpredictable regime might pose. North Korea reminded the U.S. on Monday that it has nuclear weapons and warned it will strike back if attacked, as a U.S. destroyer continued to trail a North Korean cargo ship suspected of carrying illicit weapons.


OBAMA/TOBACCO...
(CBS) - President Obama will sign into law today a landmark bill giving the government broad regulatory power for the first time over cigarettes and other tobacco products.


IRAN...
(AP) - Iran's Revolutionary Guard is threatening to crush any further opposition protests over the disputed presidential election and warns demonstrators to prepare for a ``revolutionary confrontation'' if they take to the streets again.

(CBS) - The search for stem cells to cure serious human diseases has taken California researchers to a new potential source, the placenta.
