This year?s march commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which erupted after a police raid on a gay bar, the Stonewall Inn on Christopher St., in 1969, the riots, which launched the gay-rights movement, gave birth to the annual march which now includes 170 floats, thousands of marchers and large crowds of supporters.
