(CBS) - This is judgement day for Bernard Madoff. He's sentenced in Manhattan Federal Court for perpetrating a $64-billion fraud - the largest Ponzi scheme in history. Many of Madoff's victims lost their life savings and some will address the court. The 71-year old defendant faces up to 150 years in prison.

(AP) - Fans of Michael Jackson around the world are waiting for word on the possibility of a global memorial to the King of Pop. Last night, the B-E-T Awards became a tribute to the singer. Sister Janet Jackson appeared on behalf of the family, telling the audience Michael would ``forever live'' in their hearts.

(AP) - It's Justice David Souter's last day on the Supreme Court. The justices are to issue decisions in three cases as they wrap up the session. One involves the woman nominated to replace him -- a reverse discrimination case filed by white firefighters in New Haven, Conn. Sonia Sotomayor was one of three appeals court judges who ruled in that case.
NJ BUDGET/TAX HIKES...
(AP) - New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine today is scheduled to sign a budget into law that raises more than $1 billion in new taxes on residents and businesses. The $29 billion package preserves property tax rebates for senior citizens, the disabled and homeowners with limited incomes.
