Billy Mays Shot Final Commercial in NJ
|
WOODLAND PARK, N.J. (AP) -- TV pitchman Billy Mays shot his last commercial in New Jersey, a state where he got his start.
Mays worked all day on an OxiClean commercial at Blue Moon Studios in Woodland Park on June 25.
Mays was found dead in his Florida home on June 28. A medical examiner says the 50-year-old likely died from a heart attack, though test results are pending.
Director Fred Vanore says none of the last commercials will be aired. Instead, the studio is working on a memorial OxiClean commercial to honor Mays that will begin airing next week.
Mays, known for his yell-and-sell technique, got his start hawking products on Atlantic City's Boardwalk in 1983.
His funeral will be held in the Pittsburgh suburb where he was born and raised on Friday.
