NEW YORK (AP) -- A former New York Police Department cadet is in stable condition after being shot in the stomach in the lobby of his Bronx apartment building.
Police say the ex-cadet was on his way home in the Woodstock neighborhood at around 5:30 a.m. Monday when he was shot.
His name and age have not been released. Police say he had been suspended several times but declined to say why.
Investigators are searching for the attacker. Police say the victim is hospitalized at Lincoln hospital in stable condition.
