Stolen Statue of Liberty Replica Turns Up in Video

NEW YORK (AP)  -- A replica Statue of Liberty stolen from a Brooklyn coffee shop reportedly turned up in a video that showed it blindfolded, beheaded and smashed to pieces.

The Daily News says the video included the printed slogans ``We don't want your freedom'' and ``Death to America.'' It says police are investigating.

The video clip, dated July 4, was sent anonymously to the Daily News and the coffee shop owner. The paper says it also had been posted online.

The 200-pound replica of the Statue of Liberty disappeared last month. It had been bolted into wooden anchors outside Vox Pop. Owner Debi Ryan called the theft ``un-American.''

The coffee shop is known for left-wing political debate, poetry readings and open-mic events.
