Connecticut Man Out of Hospital After Saving Dad
|
GRISWOLD, Conn. (AP) -- The 20-year-old Griswold man who was critically burned after pulling his quadriplegic father from their burning home has been released from Bridgeport Hospital.
A hospital spokesman said Wednesday that Kyle Landa's condition was upgraded to fair nearly two weeks after escaping a June 27 fire with his mother and father on Bethel Road.
Family members say it was the second time in nearly a year that Kyle helped save the life of David Landa, his 49-year-old father.
David was pulled from a swimming pool by his son last summer after falling in and injuring his neck and spine.
A family friend said the Landas have received donations from The Red Cross, Big-Y, Wal-Mart and other small businesses in the area since the blaze, which is still under investigation.
