Men Who Threw Rocks, Beer Bottles Charged with Hate Crime

NEW YORK (AP)  -- Two New York City men accused of throwing rocks and beer bottles at a transgender woman are facing charges including assault as a hate crime.

Authorities say the men also shouted anti-gay slurs during the Wednesday night incident.

The woman told authorities she was at a Queens intersection when she was struck by a rock on her foot.

The Queens district attorney's office says she told authorities she was also hit by an empty beer bottle, which left a 3-inch cut on her leg. She accused the men of yelling slurs and threatening to kill her.

The men also face charges of harassment and menacing.
