Acetaminophen Drops, Supplement Products Recalls



WASHINGTON (AP)  -- The following recalls have been announced:

Brookstone Pharmaceuticals LLC is recalling all lots of Concentrated Acetaminophen Drops in 16-ounce bulk containers. The company said consumers might misunderstand the product's dosage, posing a potential overdose risk. An overdose of acetaminophen may result in liver toxicity, kidney damage and blood disorders. The company said it has not received any reports of incidents associated with the product.
   
The company distributed 344 bottles nationally and donated 5,301 bottles to charity for international distribution. The NDC number for the recalled product is 42192-504-16. The recalled drops were made by Pharmaceutical Associates Inc. For more information, consumers can call 800-541-4802, option 2. Opteron 1 Inc., doing business as Nature & Health Co., is recalling the company's six supplement products sold under these names: LibieXtreme; Y-4ever; Libimax X Liquid; Powermania Liquid; Powermania Capsule; and Herbal Disiac. The recalled products, which contain drug ingredients undeclared on their packaging, are male enhancement products marketed as dietary supplements. No illnesses have been reported, according to the company.
   
The company said the undeclared ingredients may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates. The product might also cause side effects, such as headaches and flushing. The six recalled products were distributed in retail stores in California, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Ohio.

Maya Overseas Foods Inc. is recalling Maya Overseas Foods Golden Raisin products because they contain sulfites not declared on their packaging. Those who have severe sensitivity to sulfites may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they eat the product. No illnesses have been reported. The recalled Maya Overseas Foods Golden Raisin product is packaged in an uncoded, one-pound plastic bag. The product was distributed in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
