HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ (WCBS 880) -- Just a couple of nights ago, an unruly customer who was turned away from the new Sonic restaurant sped off and dragged a police officer.

The unlicensed driver is in jail. The officer has a broken leg and ankle.
The incident has prompted a crackdown in Hasbrouck Heights. The Sonic drive-thru is so popular that cars queue along busy Route 17.
The Bergen County Prosecutor tells The Record that drivers lined up for burgers will now get hit with a fine of $100 if they're blocking the highway.
In a statement, Sonic says they will continue to work with authorities to control traffic.
