New York (WCBS) -- Think beer and cheese don't belong together? Think again.
Tonight, The Bell House in Brooklyn hosts a beer and cheese pairing, featuring four beers made by local brewers and samples of cheese from New York's own Murray's cheese shop. The pairing is part of The Bell House's monthly tasting session, called Flight Club.
This month's tasting also features a documentary film by Anat Baron entitled "Beer Wars". The movie's website says the film "takes you on a no holds barred exploration of the U.S. beer industry that ultimately reveals the truth behind the label of your favorite beer." I spoke with Baron, who claims the world's major beer makers have had an unfair monopoly of the industry since the turn of the century, and don't intend to give up that control to local, smaller microbreweries anytime soon.
