NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Although some passers-by seemed to look on with great skepticism and disbelief at the long-haired, bearded man with no shoes, Tellman Knudson from Vermont says he's going to run barefoot from coast to coast for charity.

He wants to raise $100 million for homeless youth. After four-and-a-half months of barefoot training, the soles of his feet are black.
Knudson says, "They change, but not in the way people expect. You don't really build up calluses, because you wear the calluses down just as quickly as you build them, but they get much more...it's almost like they get more dense internally."
Knudson is an internet marketing entrpreneur. After 30-plus miles-per-day, he says he will put his feet up and work on his laptop.
