NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- They're big, they're bad, they're bridges...in New York State. A new list of the worst has just been released and bad news for New York City... the ten worst are here.
WCBS Reporter Peter Haskell looks up onto the underside of the Major Deegan near Yankee Stadium ans sees mesh nets and wood planking.
"The nets and the planking are to protect people from falling concrete," said Denise Richardson of the General Contractor's Association of New York (GCA).
Richardson says this highway, like many others, is deteriorating. She notes this isn't just about safety, it's about economic health too.

"The heart of New York City's economy is not Wall Street, it's here at the Major Deegan, it's here on the other road ways. New York is an economy that's based on the movement of goods and services," said Richardson.
The Major Deegan is the tenth worst location.
