Fans Confident as Yankees Move Closer to World Series

NEW YORK (WCBS 880)  -- The Bronx Bombers may be across the country in Anaheim, but that's not stopping fans from watching Game 3 of the American League Championship Series from the Cathedral of baseball.

The way fans see it, the stars are aligned for The Yankees. They finished the regular season with the most wins in Major League Baseball. They had that dramatic extra inning victory on Saturday night and they are now 5-0 in the postseason.

Not surprisingly, fans are confident.

"I think it's huge mentally," said one fan.

"I think we need to take one in Anaheim... if we can do that, it's over and you know if we win Game 3 I don't know if you need to use C.C. (Sabathia)," said another fan.

WCBS Reporter Peter Haskell spoke to Yankee Manager Joe Girardi about using his ace Sabathia three times in this series.

Sabathia already won Game 1 and there was talk about him starting Game 4 and Game 7 if needed.
