Yankees Fans to Rally in Times Square Ahead of the First Game of the 2009 World Series
NEW YORK (AP / WCBS 880)  -- New York City officials are encouraging Yankees fans to wear the team theme to work and school in a show of support.

The Yankees face the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday night in Game 1 of the World Series.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg hosted a pep rally in Times Square. New York Yankees radio broadcaster John Sterling and Michael Kay of the Yankees' YES network joined the festivities.
