NAUGATUCK, CT (AP) -- Naugatuck police say they're searching for a woman who was running an illegal dentist's practice in her apartment.
Police say they found used syringes and other unsanitary medical items in the woman's one-room apartment, but they haven't received any complaints from her patients.
Authorities say the suspect is a Brazilian woman, but they're not releasing her name. They're asking her patients to call the police department.
Police are working with state health officials to determine whether criminal or civil charges are warranted. They say the woman was apparently serving illegal immigrants who didn't have insurance and couldn't afford to go to a licensed dentist.
Authorities say there were no signs of sterilization equipment in the apartment.
