Police: Man Used Craig's List to Seek Sex from Teens
GARDEN CITY, Long Island (AP) -- A Long Island man is charged with soliciting sex in exchange for drugs from an undercover officer posing as a 16-year-old girl on the Internet.
Nassau County police say 24-year-old Henry Groppe placed an ad on the Internet site Craig's List seeking females to exchange drugs for sex.
The undercover officer responded to the ad.
After Groppe and the undercover exchanged e-mail and text messages, they agreed to meet.
Police say Groppe thought he was going to meet a 16-year-old girl and her 15-year-old sister.
Instead, he was met by police.
When police arrested Groppe, they say they found two plastic bags of what appeared to be cocaine.
Groppe is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, endangering the welfare of a minor and patronizing a prostitute.
