NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Today, kids and adults alike got a preview of the stars at this year's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Hoboken, New
Jersey...the floats!
WCBS Reporter Peter Haskell says for schoolkids visiting the Macy's Parade Studio, it's almost like visiting Santa's workshop.
This is where the parade floats are built and prepared for the big New York City Parade.
Parade Studio Vice President John Piper says this year Santa has a new float.
"We've been working for nearly two years on this new design where Santa is in the giant green and gold sleigh," said Piper.
And what do the critics think of it?
"I really like the Santa float," said one child from Glen Rock, New Jersey.
"What is it about it that you liked?" asked Haskell.
"It was really big and very detailed...it was cool," said the child.
And surprisingly enough these kids from Glennrock think this is better than school.
Piper says there will be other new floats to look out for this year including a float featuring winter in Central Park.
