When Tim Scheld took the job as News Director of WCBS News Radio 880 in October 2003 it was his return trip. Tim worked as a "street reporter" for WCBS News Radio from 1988 until 1992 when he left to work at ABC News as a Network Radio Reporter. At ABC Tim covered a wide range of important stories including the Oklahoma City Bombing, Earthquakes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Impeachment Trial of President Clinton, the Assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, Pope John Paul II's visit to the Holy Land, the September 11th Terror Attacks in New York, and the War in Iraq. Tim started his radio reporting career at WOR in 1983. He has won numerous awards over the course of his career including several AP General Excellence of Individual Reporting Awards while at WCBS and WOR Radio. At ABC News, he was part of the staff that won the 2001 Peabody Award for Coverage of the September 11th Attacks.
Tim brings a wealth of experience to his role as News Director, a job that includes helping to manage the newsroom staff. Besides his near quarter century of time served in the New York media market, Tim was born and raised in the Metropolitan Area and is now raising his own family here with his wife Kathy.
