HICKSVILLE, NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A mother left her two children in the car last night to go shopping at the Macy’s Department store at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville, says WCBS reporter Sophia Hall.
Police say a passerby saw the children, ages 11 years old and 14 months old, and called the police. The mother, Tenisha Perry, 28, was arrested when she returned to her vehicle from shopping.
The children were left in the car for approximately a half hour according to police where the outside temperature read only 28 degrees.
Nassau County police officer, Mike Aronson said “the children were placed in custody of their father at the second precinct.”
