Ferocious Beagles Found Roaming Long Island Streets

EAST END, LONG ISLAND (WCBS 880)  -- They look like snoopy, but act like werewolves. Packs of wild beagles have been spotted roaming the East End of Long Island reports WBCS's Mike Xirinachs.

The animals have been abandoned by hunters and are now forced to fend for themselves. They're cold, hungry, and can be vicious says Xirinachs.

One dog walker who spoke with the Post, says a pack of them forced him to run for safety.

Some of the dogs have been caught by Animal Activists who have put them up for adoption.

Calverton's Kent Animal Shelter operator says that with a little patience and love, these canines can be loving, loyal pets.
