NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The new Hempstead zoning plan would force New York Islanders owner Charles Wang to scale down his expansive Lighthouse Development Project at Nassau Coliseum.
WCBS reporter Mike Xirinachs talks with Town Supervisor Kay Murray who says it's a plan Wang appears interested in.
"He was very positive. Very much open and receptive to taking a look at our scale down proposal when it is prepared and so I take from that conversation a very, very positive outlook," said Murray.

Wang who has been critical of the town and threatened to move his team off Long Island, has yet to publicly respond.
Supervisor Murray says the new plan would benefit the region's suburban characteristics.
Wang became part owner of the Islanders in 2000.
The Lighthouse Project is billed as being a coliseum with five-star hotel, luxury residences, minor league ballpark and more near-by.
