Jersey City Police Seeking Public's Help to Find Shooter of Mini-Bus Driver
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- A New Jersey minibus driver who was shot, robbed and left paralyzed by an assailant is asking the man to turn himself in to police.
Speaking from his hospital bed Thursday, the 48-year-old victim, who asked that his name not be released, implored the public to provide police with any information.
The Ecuadoran immigrant said his faith in God and the support of his family were sustaining him.
Police say the robbery occurred March 5 at about 12:15 a.m. in the Journal Square neighborhood of Jersey City.
The man said the lone passenger on his bus pulled a gun and shot him in the back as he tried to escape through the driver's side door.
The suspect then took off in the minibus, running over the victim's legs as he lay in the street.
