Uh, Sir? Is that a Monkey Under Your Hat?
|
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A passenger flying from Lima, Peru this morning to LaGuardia via Fort Lauderdale, passes through customs, border security, through TSA screening like any other passenger... but somehow this passenger manages to get through [NY Times] with a South American Spider Monkey.
In this day and age how did this occur? Well WCBS reporter Marla Diamond talks with Spirit Airlines employee Alison Russell and found out it was quite an interesting process.
" The baby Spider Monkey was clinging to the passengers pony tail a little under his hat. Then during the flight the monkey started moving around under the hat and passengers noticed that he had a monkey on his head."
Passengers were amused, but the Port Authority was not. They have detained the man and called in CDC and ASPCA.
