Travel Day - Friday, October 6, 2006 I got less than three hours of sleep before packing my bags and heading to Newark Airport. Parked at my favorite spot across from the airport, Mr.B's, and caught a shuttle to the Continental terminal. Lines at check-in were lengthy. Didn't think I'd make my flight. But, I made like O.J. (The old O.J.) and hurdled my way all the way to the last gate in the terminal.

The Beginning - Monday, October 2, 2006 The first thing I noticed at Yankee Stadium on Monday was the weather. I can dig playoff baseball like this. I also noticed the painted LDS logos in front of each dugout; they seem smaller than in the past. I like this, too. Not too much bombast too soon. The red, white and blue bunting is back -- a staple at the Stadium this time of year.
Thousands waited hours in the crisp November morning for a chance to see the World Champion Yankee stars. We were in Truck 10 which led the float Captain Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada were on.
