It Appears the Yanks May Have Righted Their Ship
The Yankees are heading into the half-way point of the season on a bit of an upswing. Granted, it's hard to tell for sure since a sweep of the hapless, depleted Mets is not an efficient barometer of success. READ MORE >>

Sweeny Says
A Salute To Junior (no asterisk required)
I don’t care what the score was or how it affected the game…I loved seeing Ken Griffey Jr. hit a home run at Yankee Stadium Wednesday night. He sits at 621 home runs for his career.
YANKEES ACQUIRE INF/OF ERIC HINSKE FROM PITTSBURGH
The New York Yankees today acquired infielder/outfielder Eric Hinske from the Pittsburgh Pirates along with cash considerations in exchange for minor leaguer right-handed pitcher Casey Erickson and minor league outfielder Eric Fryer.
Ruthian Impact
Who's better than Mariano Rivera? I've written before in this space that you can make the case he is the most important Yankee since Babe Ruth. Think about it.
Schmeelk in the Stands
The Bullpen Dilemma
Look how far we've come. It was only a few weeks ago that there was panic in the streets about the Yankees bullpen.
The Great Mariano
I almost didn't make this whole blog about Mariano Rivera because frankly, he wouldn't want that. We all know about his accomplishments on the field.
A National Embarrassment
I hope the Yankees feel it, because they should. The Yankees just lost a series to a team that has only won two all year long.

Waldman's Way
The Mentor
Last nite, when I was interviewing Mariano Rivera on the field after the game, I asked Mo what John Wetteland (now the Mariners' bullpen coach) must think as he's watching his former pupil save his 502nd game?
Maybe It Was The Heat
So there we were, in South Florida, home of South Beach, home of incredibly overweight men doing a Beach Boys dance in the 7th inning, home of cheerleaders on the dugouts, home of great, young starters, year after year after year.
The Big Fish
We can debate endlessly whether or not Phil Hughes is/will be a Number 1 starter, and whether Joba belongs in the rotation or the bullpen. But yesterday, the Yankees got a look at "the real thing"
